Living Today Again Tomorrow

The result is back.. Inconclusive!!

Need more test.. Have to see specialist for this... getting more nervous. Plus the pain is almost unbearable already...the freaking ponstant doesnt work..

Got the referral letter now... set the appointment already. Tomorrow, we will settle this for once and for all.

P/S: Thinking, while the surgeon is operating 'IT', a boob job also would be nice no? :p

Goodbye Old Friend

For as long as I have known you, you brought nothing but pains and miseries.

When I was low, and beggin for your help, all I got was a silent reply.

When I asked 'warum', your answered was disheartening 'Hier ist kein warum!' Why do you hate me so much?

There's so much abuse that I could bear... 'sie sind ein monster'

Today is a new day for me. Now, I'm having a new friend...

so, old friend, just LEAVE ME ALONE, YOU BAS**RD!

Back to Work

Pre Raya
Tried to change the money on friday for ang pau, but there were none. Only RM1 notes available. Plus, the cashier was so freaking unfriendly, I just didn't bother to ask for old RM5 notes. Like hello, it's the premier counter and you treated me like crap. Nasib baik puasa and ko org baru...

Then went up to see old boss and colleagues. Cant believe its been 2 years I left them. Got the ang pau packets (empty obviously), and some goodies (cookies and snacks). It was like a little reunion, because the other guy also turned up (two of us left, he went to Shell)

KL view from my former office... Haze still

Another view

Afterward, paid all the bills, and went to shop. Bought a pair of trouser for myself, a shirt & cardigan for dad, which he claimed they were small.. it's snug, not small lah daddy... It's a new fashion, everyone is wearing snugly nowadays. He said no, so my brother shamelessly took them since I wont wear Dunhill (uncle's brand).

Raya
It rained like there's no tomorrow. Well, actually, on the first hari raya, I was still in KL.

Went to Haszalina's house. Gasp! There were no ketupat pulut, only nasi himpit, and she had a cheek to refer that as ketupat.

She:: Makan lah ketupat.
Me :: Where where?
She:: Tu.
Me :: Cheh, itu nasi himpit la. Ketupat yg tiga segi tuh. Dalam pulut dan kacang :p
She:: Org Melake, ini lah ketupat.
*Kwang kwang kwang* nasib baik ada rendang (yg dimasak oleh maid indon, resepi indon)

After I got back from her house, bumped into my neighbor. She insisted I came inside. Urghh so full la auntie, but because her daughter is pretty (didnt get her name.. darn it), I went inside. She cooked dinner, but I was too full already. So I just ate the murukku, laddu, dharwad and paniyaram. She even 'ta pau' me some :p

Then my sister came to pick me up. Off we went north.. Because of the continuous rain, the haze was gone, but along came the flood (penang was not affected though).

The view in front of my granny's home

Post Raya
Waiting for the next pay check :p...and yeah, i'm in pain, hopefully it's not something serious. Medical check up tomorrow *scary*..

Coming back. Felt melancholicly

Penang

My granny (in black) and my mum (3rd ladies from right, the one in uniform). This is eid in the 60s @ Bukit Dumbar. And that cute big dog belongs to one of the malay girls (not sure which one) :p

My aunties and uncles (and granpa and grandmas). The one in blue box is my granny (from my dad) And the red blouse kid in front is my sister. I'll be seing most of them this coming raya.

City Hall @ the esplanade. In front of the Fort Cornwallis (Padang Kota Lama)

My first real job was here. The BHL Bank.

Yap Chor Ee building in front of wisma kastam @ the jetty.

The British Council @ Weld Quay. My granny pronounced weld quay so perfectly (weld key), it always tickled us.

Pulau Tikus (Island of Rats). Dont know how it got its name, but its neither an island nor that many rats around (well, not as many as other places like Air Itam or Jelutong).

Penang road near the Chowrasta Bazaar. And the best sarbat stall in the world is just around the corner... and the cendol next here is good too... yummy :p

My first apartment. 49-26-C Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah.

I want my mommy!

Raya From Yester-years

As usual other kids and I would paid a visit to our classmates houses, and at this particular house:
We: Assalammualaikum.
Makcik : Waalaikumsalam.
We: Kami datang nak beraya. Zaiton ader?
Makcik : Zaiton maner?
*eh makcik ni main main pulak* Confused look.
We: Zaiton yg sekolah ** darjah ** tu..
Makcik : Ohhh, Fiza, mari lah masuk.. dia pegi kedai kejap, beli ais.
*makcik ni, nak tunggu org kenal baru nak ajak masuk! ...*
---Later we found out there were 5 zaiton's in the house :p

Balik Kampung

Balik kampung, o o o , balik kampung..

wait wait wait... my so called 'kampung' is Georgetown lah. Therefore this song does not apply to me. :p

For this Ramadhan, I managed to shed 4 kgs - unwillingly. Last Ramadhan; 5 kg. Sigh, I was a skinny lad, and I hate being one. My teacher always teased me, she said if I stand from my side, i'll vanish. That was 10 years ago when I was 48kgs.. and 3 years ago, my colleagues called me a 'fat boy'! I was only 67 65kg back then. The world has gone nuts! Now i'm 58kg... and too scared if I got too skinny or too fat..

Anyway, Eid is just around the corner. Could not say I'm looking forward into it. My mum no longer sews my Baju Melayu, nor does she bake raya cookies anymore. But I'm looking forward for her ketupat. Because she will put black-eyed peas inside. So yummy! Only her and granny will put beans on their's ketupat.

Raya morning, visit grave before the Solat. Tabur bunga di atas pusara Granpa Pengiran Sahid, Granpa Allapitchay, Granny Norian Bee, Granpa Abdul Rahman, Granny Aminah Bee, and the rest of the families.

Then everybody will congregate at my granma place for the big feast salam-salaman, maaf-maafan.

The weird thing about our family is that I, or any other working age members, have to give ang pau to our younger cousins. We are not talking about 10 of them, or even 20 of them.. Its 56 on my mum side and 42 on my dad! Well, even if its RM2 per head, you do the math! But giving RM2 is unthinkable.. you'll get frowned upon by those mamis and mamus jarum. And not to mention, those brats saw RM2 inside their ang pau, they will scream and humiliate you, saying what a 'kiam siap' you are. Therefore, to avoid a scene, they came out with the general formula; RM10 for high school and RM5 for elementary.

And my own formula is to come back home during second day of Eid. Because, in Penang, Raya is only for a day.. On the second day, everything goes back to normal. Not even kids outside going house to house collecting money... Lovely! :p

Island's view from the ferry.

Penang landmark, the KOMTAR. From the jetty.

Look at the second menu. Pork bread.

...and right next to it, its halal satay stall. Hmm.. only in Penang!

Random Thoughts

Random #1
Went for Nana's buka puasa at her place yesterday. There were 7 of us. Jabar, Hafiz, Azman, Fairul, Reeni, Nana and myself. Dont ask me where, I really dont know. It's somewhere in Kajang.

We had curry puff (with bee hoon filling!), bingka ubi, tepung talam and popiah for iftar. And syrup... ooo.. its been ages i havent had syrup.. so thirst-quencher...

Then, off to pray. For dinner, we had fish curry, chilli chicken (looked fierce, I didnt dare to touch), and mix veggie...

Afterward, coffee and pavlova while watching Superman crap. Thanks Xis for the recipe. Well, I modified it to add chocolate.and her'e the end result. (and yeah, you have to cut down the sugar.. too sweet!)

Talking about Superman, are all Metropolis inhabitant (esp daily planet's employee) idiots? C'mon he just loose the glass and changed his hairstyle and no one could recognised him? Plus, he'd been missing for five years, and when he returned, magically, superman also returned, go figure....

Random #2
I won again! This time for the security posters contest. 2nd place. RM150 vouchers. Glaring disparity/gap from the first place... RM300 (how come?). But nonetheless, bersyukur.. at least its something. Plus I got RM40 consolation prizes. Overall, 3 of my entries were selected for the calendar.. yeay..

Random #3
Was walking back to the office.. and bumped into this family...

Gasp! The first thing that pop up into my mind was... SIA stewardess... :p I presumed it's his sister's uniform being recycled into this outfit.

The real SIA uniform.. uncanny isnt?

Everybody's happy except for Nik. He had to pay :p me, yaya, siew chi, eileen, nik, jabba, and izan.

BBQ @ Yaya's

Sayonara Melbourne :(

Gosh.. Don't feel like going back. But all good things need to end. Bye Christine, bye Natalie, bye Ian, bye Matt... *sobbing* Hope to see you all soon. Next time, it would be holiday. No work..

The road to the Airport.. like me, it's gloomy

Departure hall. In my fav jacket. It's gonna be months (or years) till I got a chance to wear it again.

Nat n Me... She cried.. i cried.. heh heh

At the common lounge. Had my coffee with nat before we say goodbye.

Me being goofy.. tried to cheer up Nat

But of course, my lovely legs.. .

Airlines foods. At first, they served satay. Sentul's satays taste better (maybe because of the rats in Sentul) This is the nasi lemak. I just scooped 2 table-spoon and done with it. Too spicy + no appetite.

The breakfast. Croissant, cereals n fruits.. Again lost my appetite. Observe the cutlery, only the knife is plastic, how come? can use fork to stab also lah fool. and the drinking glasses and seramic plates.. just broke them and voila! instant weapon!

Wake up sleepyheads.. Im bored.. Do you think there's stewardess walking around ready to wrap warm blanky around you? fat chance! you'll even lucky if they even smile (sincerely) at you. That's why with MAS, i prefer to fly economy, the treatment is better. Business class sucks (for asian folks)..

The toiletries. L'Occitane. I like the Crabtree one better (the one I got on da way to Frankfurt--below). Complain a lot huh :p

Gasp! Fog in Malaysia? But then the acrid smell slapped me back into reality. It's the haze. What have I done! I shouldnt have left Melbourne...You're such an idiot...

Melbourne Photo Blog Part II

Williamstown Park. Hey Malaysians! No Haze :p
Williamstown Jetty. Yachts, yachts and yachts...

Williamstown Beach. With Melbourne metro at the background. The best part about this sea is the smell. There is no smell whatsoever, unlike Penang.

In Tasmania.. Not!. At the St Kilda's ferry terminal.

The tram.. Melbourne Port station.

The city of Melbourne from the funny looking bridge.t

Altona's Beach. There were 2 chicks bathing nude. Batal puasa. Oh boy, the water temp was freezin (they're insane!). And yeah, this beach smelled like typical beaches in malaysia.... fishy..

Natalie's Home

The forest near Natalie's home

That's the office at my back (refinery). @ Altona.

Ooppsss... One of those days. (I have to, it's buble-gum flavored ice-cream, can't get one in Malaysia. *excuses, excuses*)
