NEWater (Chinese: 新生水) is the brand name given to reclaimed water produced by Singapore's Public Utilities Board. More specifically, it is treated wastewater (sewage) that has been purified using dual-membrane (via microfiltration and reverse osmosis) and ultraviolet technologies, in addition to conventional water treatment processes. The water is potable and is consumed by humans, but is mostly used for industry requiring high purity water.

They even eat at the toilet bowl restaurant where foods being served on the toilet bowl

and they sat ont he toilet bowl without being squimish...

Dont you think its about time to up an ante to the next level?

Japanese Lab Makes Meat From Poop

Here's a solution to global food crisis.

Mitsuyuki Ikeda, a researcher from the Okayama Laboratory has developed beef based on proteins from human excrement, reports the Huffington Post.

His idea was inspired when Tokyo sewage plant asked him to explore possible uses for the sewage and Ikeda found that the sewage contained a great deal of protein.

The final product is made up of protein (63 percent), carbohydrates (25 percent), minerals (9 percent) and lipds (3 percent).

The research team led by Ikeda colored the meat red with food coloring and enhanced the flavor with soy protein.

Ikeda hopes that the public will look beyond where the meat comes from and appreciates the meat’s positive side such as encouraging environmental responsibility.

Sneak Preview 2 - MY, SG, VN & TH

Seriously I've never been to Sentosa

I was raining on Saturday. Almost the whole day. So we did nothing much except lazing around. Then we had lunch and coffee. And went back and sleep and had dinner. And sleep some more.


Went out for lunch. On the way there I dropped by here. Newly opened Specialty shop.. I went there.. like any typical Cold & Storage shop leah..


Had brunch with my ex college mate, Zue. Funny, back here in KL, we are literally live five minutes apart from each other but yet, the last meeting we had was like 2 years ago!

I did promise her to drop by her place this weekend though... :p


Tempted to go swimming afterward, but too darn lazy.


Then we had a late lunch (Golden Pillow) and off we went to Vivo city. This is the nearest I ever get to the Sentosa Island.


Its just not on the top of my priority (to go to Sentosa), nor shopping or going to the SG zoo.


So yeah, I got weird reactions when I told people that I stayed in Orchard, but I didn't spend a cent for shopping (well xcept for $6.30 for 2 tubes of toothpastes).

Then we watched 'The Reader'. I dont think this movie would be played in Malaysian Cinemas. Major frontal nudes okay! And not only nudes, but.. oh well.. go and buy the pirated dvd to see for yourself :p


BT: Wait Im going to buy some fruits.
Me: Euwwww.. made in China (MIC).
CT: What's wrong with MIC product?
Me: *Thinking... Hmmmm... How do I prove my point!* And then my saviour passed by. There! See that auntie? For all we know, she might actually be a 30 year old lady. But because she consumed too much MIC products.. Look what happened to her!
BT: *Bought Korean Strawberries instead*...
CT: You're mean!


- STOP you fcking asians! I dont know why TCC has this coaster.
Then we headed for the Keppel harbour for dinner at TCC.


and walked around gu-gu and ga-gaing over other people's yachts/sea front condos.

And the next morning I took a flight back home.


-rosak ler... some idiot(s) had jammed the door.

And the honeymoon was over as soon as I touched down. Im back to this fckup cuntry, where nothing works....

The Bicycle Trip

Saturday night - we made plan for tomorrow morning to burnt off those calories that we accumulated by going cycling on the East Coast park.

Therefore, everybody went to the bed quite early that night. By early I meant before 1am!


- Guten Morgen Mrs Dustbunnies!

Then around 7am I heard the commotion outside. Urghhh... cursing the day I said okay for that plan. Dragged my ass out of the room, took a quick shower and bam.. We're heading off Northeast.


- early morning traffic... heaven


- orchard rd in the morning, the serenity was short lived. By 9 am, these areas were throngs by Filipinos.

Took us a good 20 minutes to reach there. Parked the car and rented the bikes.


The workers here didnt speak any English. Just Mandarin. Deliberately I think, because I wanted the smaller frame bike, but he mumbled something and shoved us those 3 yellow bikes. I think the rate was SGD$10 per hour + One hour free.


Now we know why the free hour was given:
1) These are a man bike with high 'palang' (bars).
2) The brake didnt really work. But the noise it made will make everyone turned back. And eventually steered away to avoid you. Kinda meet the purpose I should say.
3) The front tires were misaligned. Mine kept on going left (CT's one kept on going right)

I havent rode a bike for like ages (more than 10 years I think). True to the old saying, "once you learn to ride, bla bla bla....."

There were two paths. One for the jogger, and the other for the cyclist/ roller blades/ dogs / kids in strollers.

The panorama was magnificent, with the sea view and there's a lot of people putting up tents for camping.


- me, showing my skill cycling hands free! Cycling and snapping photo.. Yeah yeah, saye budak kampung, jaguh bawa beskal (willie, hands free) masa zaman kaki penuh syiling 50sen! :p


The track is about 12 KM. And it took us about 1.45hr to cycle around it. I think we only went for 9km.


The workout was marred by the huge breakfast afterward :p

Bloat and Gloat

The ultimate trip; eat, mencekik, melantak, polok and eat some more..

Unlike Malaysia, finding a good food here could be a real challenge. The good food are either too darn expensive or you had to travel across the island just to get a plate of it, of which, when you arrived back, you'll be hungry again.

For us Malaysian, the rule of thumb is not to get fooled by the long queue at any stall. Unless you have the exact replica of Singaporean tongues, it's better to stay away from those "famous" food stalls. Singapore is a fad nation, all you need as a stall operator is to hire a bunch of SIA stewardess /stewards to lepak at your place.. and bam! the next day, You got crowd!

Back to my story.. heheheh, those 4 days, I didnt shop at all, in fact I didnt even go to the shopping mall, except for dinner and movie. Most of the time we were either at home, or meeting friends at the restaurant.

Some of the food we indulged:

Beef goulash. Im going to make this someday. :p


Jones the Grocer's food att eh Dempsey Hill. It's like a NAAFI (Pernama). The food look nice.


I bought a slab of Nougat. Soft one.

Then off we went to the Ban & Jerry next door. There was a topless carwash event going on, but i didnt manage to get a shot (photo), because I thought I could get some on the way back, but it rained heavily.


The best ginger ale I've ever tasted. I'll ask BT to ship it by truckload on my place, so that whenever I have open house, we all can have it :p


Burger. The Salsa and the chip is good. But should have it (the salsa) aside, because the chips went soggy.


Turkey Mango Senwich. CT said it's good.


I had the Choc Chip Min eyescream for dessert.


Right after the lunch, we went to Holland Village for a coffee!


This is what we had on Sunday @ the Ah Khoon (Spelling Ya Kun).


The next day we had Golden Pillow for lunch.


Golden pillow is just a regular bread. And inside the bread, there's curry.


We ordered 2 of them pillows. The chicken and mutton.


When you sliced open the pillow, you'll find a curry neatly tucked in inside the paperbag which had been baked together with the bread.


I like the chicken one but the gravy is not as thick as the mutton.


These are for dinners. Hot cocoa, lychee tea and azuki bean tea
