EuroTrip: SIN-KUL: Final Leg

Okay, the Europe tour was completed, now SEA tour began. hihihihi.

I was staying with my uncle, and later that afternoon he will host Eid open house at his place. I had promised Che Yan that I will meet her for F1 later that afternoon.. hmmmm *jembalang sudah naik tanduk, mode anak sedara derhaka pulak* So I texted her to meet in the evening instead (around 7pm)

It was drizzling in the afternoon. Luckily all of our relatives came in sharp at 12. Impressive. If in Penang, they'll only arrived at 3pm! Anyway, I didnt know I had so many relatives here.. Ngeeee, now Singapore had to be scraped from the 'could-do-whatever-i-want' list.

My uncle need to do some work at his shop. So I followed him to the sundry shop.

Amboi! Benda ni pun jual ka! ( I cant believe he sold this stuff). Its a female aphrodisiac. Bisa Menikmati Sorga Dunia - 'Where you can experience heaven on earth'

Then by 6pm I made a move and met Yan and Akram.

F1 time.. woo hoo...Well actually this pic were taken from google.

My camera could only capture this type of pictures.. hihihihi

Air Asia in proton's engine.

The cars only passed by every 5 minutes. And most of the times these were what we do.. camwhoring or staring at the empty road.

After the race (it was qualification - real race was on Sunday). I went to the Padang to meet che yan (she was in the different section)

Pic from che yan photo's.

While waiting for the main show, we just walked around, buying stuff.

Then the show began.

Che yan's camera

My camera

Adam lambert.... by 12 we parted,

and the next morning we meet again for breakfast. And then some shopping, and then we headed home - to KL..

Good bye Singapore, see you again in 2 mths. hi hi

EuroTrip: Leyden: Afscheid Europa

25 days. Approx 3850KM (2450 by train BLUE, 1400 by plane RED), 6 Countries. I'm almost done. Today is the last day. My flight was at 3pm, but by 8 Wim already asked me to get ready. Oh maybe he needed to get to work early.

Then we headed away from the airport. huh? Turned out he took me for 4 hours ride across the country. Sweet, but I would rather have my sleep. Not to mention, for most part of the journey, it was raining.

So anyway, im not going to bored you with the cross country drive, but I'll give summary on the cities I've been.

Cities I love by order of preferences:
1 - Berlin
2 - Leiden & Amsterdam (theyre closed together so I count them as one)
3 - Budapest (though quite expensive)
4 - Munich
5 - Koln

Berlin is my 'IT' city. Just like Chicago is the 'it' American city for me.

Berlin is clean, structured, efficient, nice and sophisticated. throw in a bit of kinkiness and here we have it.. Although, it would be perfect if Berliner adopt the southern German relaxed attitude (Munich, Stuttgart), but I'm not complaining.

Cities that I dont mind not going for a second trip.
1 - Brussels
2 - The Hague
3 - London *
London and Paris are never on my 'must visit' list. As for London, I think the mistake I made was to visit it at the end of the journey. Tired, London weather, chaotic.. and after seeing great cities with great buildings elsewhere, London is kinda drag. too much gray buildings everywhere..

Having said that, they're other factors that would made London indispensable (friends being number one reason) on which I couldnt just drop it off from the list.

Cities I wish I could include:
1 - Prague CZECH REPUBLIC
2 - Bonn GERMANY
3 - Brugge BELGIUM
4 - Hamburg GERMANY
5 - Antwerp BELGIUM
6 - Nurmberg GERMANY

** Other cities in the Netherlands (Rotterdam, Utrech, Gouda), in a way we did pass by those cities. I just wish I could spend more time there...

I was blessed, for all the places I went, there's no untoward incidents happen. Use your common sense and dont look too touristy. Most of the cities are safe to walk at night, even in Budapest, the ex communist city/country. But I wouldnt recommend it in Brussel.

People wise, the Budapest tends to enjoy life the most. They will take their own sweet time to do things like eating and walking. Whereas people in Brussels and London are always in a hurry.

The Dutch eats a lot of potatoes for dinner. The German cant live without pork.

The fastest and easiest mode of transportation is the train. It is also cheaper to buy your tickets early. The train station is usually right in the middle of the city center. When you reached there, rent a bike.

Finally, dont pack a lot of clothing. They're cheaper here and more suitable for the weather.

We made a pit stop in I dont know where. He was visiting his grandma.

Then the journey continued. If Im not mistaken, these are the route we took. Leiden - Delft -Rotterdam - Dordrecht- Breda - Utrecht - Hilversum - Schiphol.

By 1pm we finally arrived at Schiphol. No queue for my flights to Singapore via London. transit in Heathrow, then we boarded the plane. Omigod, its Airbus A380.. woo hoo..

You could watch live tail camera of the airplane.

Then we had dinner.

2 movies, sleep in between and another movie

With unlimited snacks in between

breakfast was served.

Then we arrived at Changi. Another A380 taking off.

It was a good flight, and the plane is HUGE...and you can walk around on both levels.

The Eurotour was Officially ended.

Now, stop reading and get back to work!! shoo shoo.

EuroTrip: Leyden: Perfection

Forgot to include the map yesterday. Hi hi. The distance from Cologne - Brussels - Leiden is about 320KM.

-- female bike for me.. hihiih. His mom's bike!

So anyway, the next day, the cycling tour continued. I decided to go back to the city center because yesterday,I saw a lot of salewe did only the Japanese tourist tour (out of the bus, snap pictures, back to the bus).

Di Persimpangan Dilema. Where should I go now. Amsterdam/the Hague? Rotterdam? Munich? hihihih

The reference point. I need to find this gate to find my way back home later :p

That pancreas church... went inside, there was a choir.. And got people pushing, so I had to sit pretty far in front. Now I was trapped :p

After like 1/2 hour, the choir finally over. Phew..

Cycled around looking for stuff to buy. WTH! All shops open at 1pm - 2pm! Its weekday! Lazy Dutch! *nanges*

Okay lah, time for lunch then... Oooo, Indonesian restaurant. must be interesting. Upon close inspection of the menu, i definitely had to find another restaurant. Babi Panggang Kicap (roast pork in soy sauce) anyone? Or Bami Loempia + Patat. Pasti enak.

I drank a lot, and you know the effect after that. There's no hotel nor restroom in the restaurant (that I went to).. Cycling around the city for the loo. Tempted to just pee on one of the canal.. But no! Finally found something! Godsend...

The joy was short-lived.. After you go down the stairs, the "urinal" was closed. But behind this there's this bush.. Kinda perfect spot for relieving yourself.. But hey, im not uncivilized!

Holdin it for a couple of minutes. Phew, finally saw some departmental stores with restroom, and its open (the shop and the restroom). Thank god!

Phew... now the bladder is empty, time to refuel.. I did some shopping on the mall before that.. hi hi, as the saying goes, while in Rome. Went out saw this ice cream shop. Yum yum.

So I bought two flavors, raspberry and pistachio. There's like virtually no tourist in Leiden.. There are some dutch tourists from different cities, and that's about it. What a pity, Leiden is much more beautiful than Amsterdam.

Its a perfect wether to cath up with my reading to. I felt like a mule, carrying the book everywhere but never got a chance to read it. The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. After like a month, I only managed to get pass page 30! SO, today I determined to at least go through two chapters.

Easy said than done though. After like 1/2 hour I moved spot (cycled to the diff part of town) and continued reading for another half an hour..

By then the shops were like frantically waving at me, welcoming me to go inside. How could I be so cruel and let them be alone! Hihihihi. I almost went insane in this shop, almost everything is below €5. I saw a couple of Dutch babies wore them and theyre sooo cute.

Please dont touch. How am I going to buy if I cant touch? Anyway, its very hard to find a souvenir shops around. The one they have, sells generic Netherlands items with some Amsterdam stuff. No 'made-in-China' I love Leiden stuff!

The spree continued. This time at the spices shop. Every spices I ever read and want is there. Went momentarily insane for a while. Nasib baik bukan bulan puasa, ketidak dah batal - gila sekejap.

Then, took a break for more reading. Nice day for boating as well.

Time to move to another spot... cycling back to the apartment. Taking my own sweet time to cycle back.

Then I heard the bell for me to give way...

whoaa, I was so darn slow, even granpa could cut me and 'speed' off.

Then found a new spot to continue reading...It was 19degree outside. NICE.

The cloud trail from the plane's engines.

Then by 5 I went back home.. and guess what? I dont have to cook dinner.. Yeay! He made dinner for us.
