Malaysia start 2009 with bad performance being trashed 5 goals by UAE in the first match for Asia Cup 2011 Qualifiers. This repeating the same fate Malaysia has in Asia Cup 2007 when they kick out from the group stage.

UAE first goal come in 28 minutes through Mohamed Omar Mohd Ahmad before getting the second goal before half time through penalty kick taken by Mohamed Omar Mohd Ahmad.

UAE third goal come in fashion when Ismail Matar Ibrahim acrobatically perform a scissor kick beating Malaysia goalkeeper in 62 minutes. In 75 minutes Ismail Matar Ibrahim once again scored UAE 4 goals.

UAE substitutes, Ahmad Khalil Sebait scores the last goal in 85 minutes to end the game with 5-0 scoreline.

After the match Malaysia supporters gather in front of Malaysia officer and players exit to show their disappointment show by national team. Some of them want B. Sathianathan to responsible in the team loss and quit his post while some preferring major revamp in FAM led by Pahang Sultan, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah.

Another Mind Boggling News

Car theft suspect dies in police custody
Charles Ramendran

PETALING JAYA (Jan 20, 2009) : A car theft suspect who was arrested with two others about a week ago collapsed and died in police custody today.

The 23-year-old man, identified as Kugan Ananthan and held under remand at the Puchong police lock-up, was brought to the Taipan police station at USJ, Subang Jaya about 11am for questioning.

Selangor police chief DCP Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said the suspect had asked for water during questioning and was given some by investigators.

He said soon after, the man vomited and collapsed. He said police brought in a doctor from a nearby clinic to treat the suspect.

However, Khalid said the doctor found the man was already dead.

He said police had learnt from the suspect’s family that he was asthmatic.

Police have sent the man’s body to the Serdang Hospital for a post mortem to determine the cause of death.

“We will wait for the outcome of the post mortem and decide our next course of action.” he said.

Meanwhile, Kapar MP S. Manikavasagam, who went to the mortuary last night, expressed regret over the incident and urged federal police to step in to probe if there was any foul play involved in the death.

“I discovered that the deceased had breathing difficulties prior to his death. How is it that the police did not rush him to a hospital on seeing this? This is most disappointing especially when it is happening just weeks after an earlier incident where a detainee was splashed with hot water at the Brickfields police station,” he said.

Najib: Change or die

His speech at the launch of a book entitled "Politik Baru" (New Politics) written by Deputy Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah comes just three days after the BN lost the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election to PAS by a convincing margin.

"We are aware that in a democratic system, the people are the ultimate determiner of which party should form the government," he said.

"In implementing all the required changes, the BN, whether it liked it or not, needed able leaders who are knowledgeable in the fields entrusted to them. Leaders, should be 'glocal' in their ways of thinking, with ideas transcending national boundaries, but with soul firmly rooted in their homeland.

"Malaysians are mature enough to gauge their leaders. They are no longer impressed with the rhetoric of changes which are nothing but plain rhetorics. They want results. They want to see actual changes taking place," he said.

Najib said the wave of change sweeping around the world today required the country not only to have leaders with sweet smiles and pleasant personalities but also those with wisdoms and ideas.
He said there should never be a disconnect between the people's aspiration and the government's goal. adding that the BN government was always responsive to changes and new ways of doing things.

Changes had now become a dominant theme in global politics, Najib said.

United States president-elect Barack Obama, during his campaign trail for instance, had been appealing to the American people's sense of hope and idealism and not their fear and hatred, said Najib.

"This has triggered a wave of change in the history of American politics," he said.

Najib also said access to information superhighway and pay-per-view satellite television had exposed the Malaysian public to the explosion of information and this had brought about new dimensions in the empowerment of Malaysians as voters.

Najib congratulated Saifuddin for finding time to write the book despite his busy schedule as a member of the administration.

The 178-page book in Malay and English discusses politics in the context of governance and the lesson that can be learned from the 12th general election.

Saifuddin said the idea for book came from his desire to contribute towards the flourishment of knowledge and to help enrich the political discourse in the country. - Bernama

Perhaps a victory

Call me pessimist, but I wouldn't call P36 by-election a clear Victory and making BN irrelevant.

PAS - 32,883
BN - 30,252
Bebas - 193
Majority - 2,636
Spoilt - 665
Turnout - 63,993

With only 2000 strong majority, it's more like a voting anomaly rather than 'referendum rakyat menolak permerintahan BN' (people's voice - says no to current leadership).

Compare to the March 2008 results:
PAS - 31,934
BN - 32,562
Bebas - 685
Majority - 628
Spoilt - 931
Turnout - 66,112

Bigger turnout this time. Plus minus the spoils and independence votes, the majority is not that significant.

But the most important factor would be the UMNO factor. As usual, whenever their personal favorite candidate is not contested, they will sabotage the election by voting the opposition, call it stupid, but it's the UMNO way.

As much as I dislike current moronic leaderships, I wouldnt go overboard either by saying that this is the SIGN.

So, hold your breathe people, the ride is getting scarier. Terminal Rakyat (New Labu International Airport) for example.

Now you know why It it against my principle to take Air Asia. What AA wants, AA gets. Ipoh airport, Batu Berendam (Malacca) airport, Sarawak's domestic route. In the end what happened? MAS has to pick up AA's shit.

It's unfair to pass judgment without going through the 'Now everyone could fly' experience. So I did try it once, but that was it! An experience I wouldnt want to forget nor want to relive again.

KLIA-Jakarta. Somewhere in 2002.
Boarding the plane via the tarmac (no bridge, just like Los Staq airport) was fine with me. But something was seriously fucked up when at the tarmac, you could see and old Chinese auntie with huge 'hand' luggage cutting you from behind and hurriedly strutted onto the plane.

It's like a movie being played in slow motion; maknya tua, with all jerih payah mengejar pelangi. Horror!!!!

Shocked no2 I had was when I was aboard. The scene was so chaotic. People fighting over seats, luggages were not stowed on the overhead compartment (with some put the bags on their laps). Luckily livestock is prohibited at KLIA (maybe they will allow it in Labu).

I was seated in the middle of these Indonesian groups which made a big embarrassing scene because they thought those drinks and maggie mee were free.

Nothing pale to comparison with the shock no 3 though. Their stewardesses!!! And no, its not about their faces. They're quite pretty indeed (pretty ugly -- kidding). Nor was it that shocking red uniforms they donned. It's their pantyhose!!!! *psycho screeching background music*

It's not uniform! Some, wear it, some dont. Some wear the black, some brown and one have a runny pantyhose! That was the last straw man!

Eh termenyimpang jauh pulak. Kesimpulannya, unless its 10,000 or more majority, then only we could call it an ultimate victory. Until then, majulah sukan untuk negara!

Britain's Prince Harry apologises for racist language

Britain's Prince Harry has apologised for using racist language after a Sunday newspaper reported he had filmed himself calling an army colleague a "Paki" and telling another he looked like a "raghead".

The video obtained by the News of the World plunges the 24-year-old prince, the third in line to the throne, into fresh controversy four years after he sparked outcry by wearing a Nazi swastika at a fancy dress party.

The newspaper posted the video on its website and said it was made in 2006 when the prince was still an officer cadet.

It begins as he is waiting with his platoon in an airport departure lounge for a flight to a training exercise in Cyprus.

Touring the room with a video camera as his colleagues snooze, he spots an Asian cadet and says: "Anybody else around here?... Ah, our little Paki friend, Ahmed."

"Paki" is a racist term for Indians or Pakistanis.

The royal family issued an apology, but insisted the prince had used the term without malice.

"Prince Harry fully understands how offensive this term can be, and is extremely sorry for any offence his words might cause," a spokesman said.

Rubbish. If he had said 'there's fucking paki' then it would have been racist. I dont see Irish people jumping around shouting racist when people called them Pikey.

Waitress, man to be caned in Malaysia for drinking beer

A Malaysian religious court has sentenced a man and a woman to six strokes of the cane for drinking alcohol, in a rare decision in the multicultural nation, a report said Tuesday.

Mohamad Nasir Mohamad, a 38-year-old father of four, and 22-year-old waitress Noorazah Baharuddin, were separately found drinking beer in pubs last year in central Pahang state.

A third accused, part-time model Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno, a 32-year-old Singaporean permanent resident, has also been accused of the same offence and faces a decision on May 4.

The New Straits Times said the Sharia High Court in Pahang handed down the sentences Monday and fined the pair 5,000 ringgit (1,400 dollars) each.

"The caning is to shame them and should be done at any of the prisons in the country," judge Abdul Rahman Yunus was quoted as saying by the daily in his ruling.

He said the sentence was intended as a deterrent to other Muslims, who make up the majority of the population in Malaysia.

Vietnam: Mekong Delta Part 2

This will be the last entry on Vietnam (till May :p)
Still on Mekong delta excursion. Overall we made 3 stops. One for lunch. Then for candy factory visit and lastly for the small sampan excursion.

We started in Cai Be (Point A), and went up towards Cambodia and went back down to Can To and ended there.

They were making a rice pop here. But because I saw the paddy field beforehand, I passed them away from tasting. The others mat sallehs said it tasted GOOOOOOD. Only if they knew. Hi hik.

Wrapping center. Sleeveless and no gloves? hmmmm...

And here I am, honing my skills to pop the rice. Someone said I already got the look already (same pants). True enough, my RM199 Zara pants was made in Vietnam. And that guy bought his for less than RM10. Damn it!

The coconut candy.

This makcik is making popiah(springroll) skins.

Drying the popiah... No wonder salty.

Off for the sampan excursion on the narrower canal.

Meeting local boy just got back from school and had to go fishing. Just like I was! Hope he will be as successful as me when he grow up. (Successful kah aku?)

Very nice scenery and weather. Clear blue sky, unpolluted cool air/breeze, and cool river water...

Hoping to get a tan!

The crocodile hunters.. more like a lizard(biawak) hunters.

The end of the small canal, and going back to the big boat.

Vietnam: Mekong Delta Part 1

The next day we went to Mekong delta, which is about 2 hrs drive south from Ho Chi Minh city.

At 6 we woke up and got ready for the 7 o'clock pickup.

Along the way you'll find a lot of stall selling french breads. Because it's hard to get the flour outside the big city, it's customary for those who are going back to their hometown (during weekend) to bought fresh breads made from the wheat flour.

The paddy fields dotted the panorama all the way to Mekong. Very fertile land indeed. And ohh, local dont call it Mekong. they call it something like nine dragons river because the delta branches split into 9 main rivers before entering the South China Sea. So, if you got lost and ask for direction, tell them to show direction to the 9 dragons rivers (in vietnamese language of course) :p

The pit stop (R&R). Very clean toilet!!!!

And no, that was not a real piglet. Though I had a very hard time convincing my mum. She was so upset looking at this pic. Which made me feel like framing it up and hang it on my living hall wall.

The r&r again. Because of the accident on the way, we arrived pretty late and missed the daily floating market rush.

All the merchant boats have the eyes to deter crocodiles. Not for fishermen boats though, because they will scare away fishes.

The only free range dogs I saw in Vietnam. I'm guessing the people this far down south dont eat them :p

Heh Syawa, ko ingat ko jer boleh boing boing. Coco nuts :p

The lunch was served on one of the islands.

The we continued the journey again. Took about 4 hours for the boat ride. It was fun (for the first few minutes). Then it gets mundane because you'll see the same scenery over and over again. Luckily the river doesnt smell.

By 2nd hour I got traumatic because it reminded me of my childhood in Penang. Being forced into a sampan in the middle of the day and had to catch crabs and horse shoe crabs (belangkas). Urrgggghhh, by the end of the day I turned dark like my anak-mami cousins :p

I made Zee lose her appetite for vietnam rice. But it is true!!!!

The pesawah (rice cultivator) there buried their dead in the middle of the field. Something like they belong to this field and wish their souls to be closed to the field.

Thats why vietnamese rice has extra umphh. Come to think about it, most of our rice is being imported from vietnam. Hmmmm.. beras Jasmin anyone?
